Here are the ladies (and families) busy serving iFamily as the 2013 – 2014 Board of Directors:
President is Jennifer Anderson
I have been happily married to Cody S. Anderson for seventeen years. We have six beautiful, intelligent, and wonderful children whom we love tremendously and our next addition is coming in December. We have educated our children at home from the beginning and have cherished it! I enjoy teaching and helping people discover new things. I love people and feel like I learn from everyone I meet and through those interactions and relationships I discover new things about myself. I am tremendously blessed by the wonderful people in my life! I enjoy “crossfitting”, gardening, mothering, and nurturing and I hope someday to be able to do unsupported handstand pushups, have a beautiful, relatively weed-free garden, and have grown children who “walk in truth”. I enjoy learning new things and I love reading. Some of my educational goals in life include reading all of Shakespeare’s works, reading all of the books of Charles Dickens (my favorite author!), reading the writings of C.S. Lewis (my favorite philosopher/author), and someday being able to study in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew. I am a long way from these goals but I am plodding along and making progress while striving to enjoy the journey.
Vice-President Jana Browning
For the past twenty-three years, I have been blissfully married to the best decision of my life, my husband Eric. We have eight unique children, ages twenty-two to two, who fill our days with joy and adventure. We have home schooled ALL eight children for the past fourteen years and have loved the journey of our unconventional yet rewarding lifestyle. Besides the all-consuming pleasure of being a wife and HS mama, my personal luxuries lately are to work in our yard and GARDEN, COOK and EAT yummo foods, READ & STUDY inspiring literature, PHOTOGRAPH and BLOG our life, relax and regroup with the PIANO, PLAY “Words With Friends” (shallow, I know), ORGANIZE an overwhelmed closet or two, and JOG down a country road.
Mentor Coordinator is Tracy Ward
Tracy has been ecstatically married to Richard for twenty years and still can’t believe God led her to him. They have four children, ranging from seventeen to four, and have homeschooled their children for the past seventeen years. It has been an amazing experience of growth and learning for their whole family and they can’t imagine their life any other way. Tracy loves to go camping, is an avid reader, always has far too many projects going, teaches gymnastics to about 80 homeschooled children each week, runs an adult colloquia group, and is a birth doula. Since February 2012, she has been dealing with a persistent hip injury and she has made it through the pain and discouragement through the wonderful support she has received from her iFamily friends. She pretty much kills every plant she touches, is overrun by clutter, and is known to scream with excitement on a daily basis. She loves to connect people together, build strong communities, share delicious food, plan huge events, and laugh herself silly. You may read her semi-daily musings at wetoatmealkisses.com.
Treasurer is Honica Smith
Honica has been happily married to Cameron Smith for 20 years. We have 10 wonderful and amazing children ranging from 19 to 1. We have been educating our children since our oldest was born! As a family we love to waterski, go snowmobiling and being together. I get so much joy and satisfaction seeing my children having successes! I love a beautiful flower bed, a manicured garden, swimming, teaching someone something new, bottling fruit for the winter and going on dates with my husband. When I get time to myself I love to read, learn new things and improve my surrounds (it seems like I am always in a project). I love the education, opportunities and relationships Ifamily has given my family. Homeschooling has been a fun and rewarding journey!!
